This is the Deep South, where the mere mental image of snowfall is enough to give some people anxiety. Stop what you're doing, drive to the grocery store and buy 10 loaves of bread and 25 gallons of milk and water.

Weather forecasts earlier this week suggested the possibility of snow for this Sunday. The Weather Channel on Monday put the chances of snow for Sunday at 90 percent. As the weekend draws nearer, however, the likelihood of snowfall on Sunday in Baldwin County has diminished to almost zero Basically, according to the forecasts, it won't be cold enough for snow.

The Weather Channel's forecasts, as of Thursday mid-morning, no longer made any mentions of snow. The forecast calls for a high of 43, a low of 34 and "cloudy with periods of rain...Chance of rain 90 percent. Rainfall around a half an inch. Higher wind gusts possible."

The National Weather Service, meanwhile, shows "showers before 3 p.m., then rain after 3 p.m. High near 41. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Finally, Accuweather predicts a high of 42 and a low of 36, with "rain ending in the morning; cloudy and colder."
