County working on million-dollar block grant for infrastructure, needs residents' help

Federal grant applications are often very specific. Federal grants also are very competitive, with different communities vying for the same pie.

That's why County Manager Carlos Tobar is asking residents off of the Vinson Highway and across from the Georgia War Veterans Home to help out. The Community Block Development Grant will target water and sewer line repairs along all or parts of the following roads:

• Youngblood Road

• Martin Drive

• Oak Drive

• Daphney Street

• Frazier Drive

• Lee Street

• Stuart Circle

•Gilman Street

"If there are problems with sewer please call in a work order to 478-445-4237. We also need pictures of toilet backups raw sewage on the ground, if any," wrote Tobar in an email."
