An older man driving a gray or silver truck was captured on a home security camera late last week stealing a car battery from behind a house in the 2400 block of Irwinton Road.

A BOLO was issued, and a deputy quickly spotted an older man driving a gray truck less than a mile away. The deputy then compared the man and the man's truck to the security video from the home. Robert Lee Chamblee, 61, subsequently was arrested for theft by taking and criminal trespass.

A district manager from the Jet Food store's global worldwide headquarters in Sandersville, which is a pre-fabricated vinyl building, called 911 after reportedly watching security video of a Jet store employee stealing lottery tickets while working the register.

Officers then responded to the Jet store at the corner of Jefferson and Dunlap and reviewed the footage. The employee was identified as Jamina Dent, 25. Dent was called to the store and "admitted stealing approximately 800 dollars" worth of lottery tickets.

Dent was charged with one count of misdemeanor theft by taking.

Burglaries and/or entering autos were reported in the 110 block of Maplewood Avenue, the 120 block of Chandler Circle and Allenwood Circle.

A porch pirate was reported on Cedar Lane off of Ga. 212 near the lake.

A Holy Bible and bottle of Adderall were reported stolen from a vehicle parked downtown.

A case of Bud Light, crab legs, frozen pizzas and paper towels were reported shoplifted from Food Depot.

A familiar face around the women's cell block at the county jail recently made another appearance.

Connie Tonekia Pack, who's now been booked at the county jail 12 times in the last 13 years, recently was arrested and charged with shoplifting after reportedly stuffing chap stick, tee shirts, Febreeze and cleaning supplies into her purse and walking past the final point of sale at Ollie's Bargain Outlet in the old Northside Piggly Wiggly shopping center.

It was Pack's third shoplifting arrest in the last five years, which equals a felony, added the incident report.

Back in March, meanwhile, Pack was arrested after stealing the "charity donation jar" off the counter at the Jet store by the river bridge. The jar was raising money  "to assist a fellow employee with medial bills due to a car accident earlier in the month of February," according to an incident report.

A tall man with a blonde ponytail and bright purple shirt reportedly reached behind the bar at Buffington's while no one was looking and stole a bottle of Jose Cuervo. Employees later noticed the theft on camera.

First responders converged on Fox Hill Road late last week after a 12-year-old boy had a four-wheeler accident. The boy was "laying with his head bleeding and legs hurting," according to an incident report. He was transported to the hospital.
