BHS basketball great and hip hop artist reportedly kidnapped and shot in Atlanta

Melvin "Fish Scales" Adams, one of the greatest basketball players in Baldwin County history and the only Milledgeville rapper ever to make any real generational money, "was robbed, kidnapped and shot at a brewery" that he c0-owns in Atlanta, according to 11Alive in Atlanta.

The news station added that the suspects "only got away with 30 dollars." Adams stands nearly 6-foot-7 and around 300 pounds.

"My partner's good. I just spoke to him. He's in good spirts. He's ready to get back to work," said Skinny Deville, adding that it was "a random act of violence.

Deville and Adams are two members of the Nappy Roots hip hop group, as well as co-owners of Atlantucky Brewing, LLC.

Deville added that Adams hopefully will be recovered "in time for a show this weekend."

Adams starred on the basketball court for BHS in the mid-'90s before accepting a basketball scholarship to Western Kentucky University, which is where he met the other men who eventually would form Nappy Roots.
