If you've been thinking that we've had a lot of rainy days lately, well, that's because we've had a lot of rainy days lately.
There's no Cooperative Extension weather station here in Baldwin County. At the one in Putnam County, though, rain was recorded on 22 out of the first 28 days in August. Over at the weather station in Washington County, meanwhile, rain was recorded on 20 out of the first 28 days in August.
Most of the rain this month has been more of the nickel-and-dime variety. Despite 22 days of rain already this month, not once has the weather station in Putnam County recorded more than an inch in one day, and the total for the month is only five inches.
Historically, August has produced an average of 10 rainy days per month at both the Putnam County station and the Washington County station.
