Complete panic and mayhem, not really, was documented in various parts of Milledgeville and Baldwin County on Thursday afternoon.
Photos on local social media showed cars lined up eight deep on North Jefferson Street, while lines were also reported in front of Baldwin High School and US 441 near the Putnam County line.
It was all part of Circle K's "Fuel Celebration Day," when the company "dropped the price of fuel by 40 cents" at each of its roughly 3,600 of convenience stores.
Actually, "Fuel CelebrationDay" was more like "Fuel Celebration Three Hours," with the promotion last from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Circle K craziness also was reported in other parts of the country.
For those who may have moved away from Milledgeville and don't remember Circle Ks in Milledgeville, the company in 2016 bought up CST Brands, the parent company of Flash Foods and all Flash Foods stores, previously ubiquitous around Baldwin County.
