Javon Bullard, Baldwin High Class of 2021, on Saturday became the first Milledgeville guy to start a game for the Georgia Bulldogs in 20 years.

Bullard got the call at nickelback, which Kirby Smart's squad refers to as the "star" position. Bullard and the rest of the Dawgs' D held Oregon without a touchdown and dominated in downtown Atlanta.

J.T. Wall, who started at fullback back in 2002 for Georgia's SEC Championship team, previously was the last Milledgeville native to start for UGA's football team.

Back in April, Bullard and the national championship Dawgs put a ring on it.

Once month prior to that, Mayor Mary Parham-Copelan declared "Javon Bullard Day" in the city of Milledgeville.

Bullard graduated from BHS in December 2020, a semester early, and has been on campus in Athens since January 2021. He appeared in 14-out-of-15 games as a freshman.
