Already on probation, shoplifter reportedly attacks 2 beauty supply store employees
Blue lights converged on the old northside Piggly Wiggly shopping center around lunchtime Friday, as a 50-year-old man went on a shoplifting spree and reportedly attacked two employees at the Beauty Queen beauty supply store, one male and one female.
Antonio Terrell Scott, 50, already on probation, was charged with two counts of battery and one count of shoplifting. The first officer spotted Scott "walking around the building carrying what appeared to be items with price tags." The officer got closer and noticed that Scott was wearing some of his brand-new gear, a "pair of blue jean pants that still had price tags on them." He was arrested without incident.
Scott's new threads came from Men's Fit, located in the Food Depot shopping center, before he headed south to Beauty Queen.
Officers then made contact with the two victims inside of Beauty Queen, according to the incident report. The employees relayed to the officers that Scott "entered the store and became irate" and "came around the corner grabbing hats off the wall." Scott then is accused of giving one of the employees a bloody lip before pushing the other one into the sunglasses rack.
