Homegoing services pending for Milledgeville man murdered in Sparta

Peoples Funeral Home announced the death of Robert May, III of Milledgeville.

May lost his life following a shooting during the early-morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 19 in Sparta. The incident took place on College Avenue,  a cut-thru street between Ga. 22 and Jamie Kennedy Boulevard that's a popular hangout in Hancock County and often buzzing with activity.

Treyvion Crayton, a 20-year-old Sparta man, was arrested and charged with murder on Monday in connection with May's death. The shooting followed a dispute between the two men, according to investigators, and May was shot at pointblank range in the head with a large-caliber 223 rifle round.
