First responders converged on Deepstep Road around dusk Sunday following a single-vehicle accident near O'Quinn Pond Road, not far from the Washington County line.
A Ford pickup truck collided with a tree, and first responders discovered two occupants inside of the vehicle. Pronounced deceased at the scene was William Keith Duncan, 64, the driver. Meanwhile, the passenger was life-flighted to the Medical Center in Macon with "serious injuries," according to the Georgia State Patrol accident report. The passenger was identified as Vickie Duncan.
Added the accident report: "A Ford Ranger was traveling east on Deepstep Road negotiating near O'Quinn Pond Road. The vehicle was traveling at a high of speed and failed to maintain a single lane of travel crossing the centerline off the left side of the roadway striking a tree with its front end."
Neither occupant of the pickup truck "was wearing a seatbelt," added the accident report.
Sunday's traffic fatality marked the first on Baldwin County roadways since way back in June.
Sunny, with a high of 84 and low of 60 degrees. Sunny during the morning, overcast during the afternoon, sunny in the evening, clear overnight.
So I'm curious as to what reasoning is behind this new water park. We did have a pool at Walter Williams and that was shut down and filled in because there wasn't enough money to get the pool up and running.
