Second schoolchild gunned down inside of own home in as many months

Baldwin County has recorded its second homicide of 2023, as a 10-year-0ld boy was fatally shot while in his bed early Monday morning.

The incident occurred on Harrisburg Road, and multiple rounds were fired into the mobile home, according to WMAZ/Channel 13.

A press conference has been called at 3 p.m. at the county jail on Old Monticello Road. Baldwin2K News will have much more then.

The incident early this morning follows the murder of Syee Havior, the Baldwin High student who was fatally shot last month after coming home from work. Five males barged into the home at 145 Black Springs Road across the river in a "targeted home invasion." Two men and three juveniles ultimately were arrested.
