There were rescue boats, a drone, a K-9 officer and even a helicopter.
In the end, however, everything worked out, as a man emerged from the woods at the Oconee River Greenway roughly three hours after first being reported missing on Thursday night.
The rescued man, who reportedly has some developmental challenges, told law enforcement officers that he "was trying to outmaneuver the drone," which is why he remained in the woods for so long. The Milledgeville Police Department's drone is equipped with infrared FLIR technology.
The first call was made to 911 at 9:24 p.m., and the search initially centered around the old powerhouse along the Greenway, which is where the man was last seen. Roughly three hours later, the man was finally found, scraped up and scratched but without serious injury.

Sunny, with a high of 75 and low of 43 degrees. Sunny during the morning, clear during the afternoon and evening,
Everything sounded so lovely until the end.
“We tried”
If that’s not disheartening idk what is. I feel the need to quote my mom here. “I can’t have nothin nice”. Wiser words were never said.
Oh! And for gods sake STAY HYDRATED if you want to save on hospital bills. I hate summer.
Member when the river was fun and didn’t get angry and take lives? You could float down hopefully by sunset with only burnt skin that was a problem for later you? Member when your biggest fear were all the scary gar lingering about?
