Why are there still billboards up featuring deceased UGA football player?

Motorists heading down US 441 outside of McIntyre may have noticed a pair of billboards featuring Devin Willock, the University of Georgia football player who lost his life in a car accident back in January.

Willock's photo is shown underneath the header "CAR WRECK" and "WORK INJURY." The billboard is for the Go Big Injury Lawyers group out of Athens.

The same billboard appears in counties around Georgia, including Jones.

It turns out that Willock had a Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deal with the company prior to his death, and the billboards went up prior to his death The obvious connection is that Willock was No. 77, and the law firm's number is 1-800-777-7777.

Baldwin2K News reached out to the law firm on Monday morning and spoke with someone at the company but did not hear back as of press time.

One of its lawyers held a press conference in downtown Athens following Willock's death, announcing that it was filing a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of his parents.
