Micah Welch, the most heralded running back to come out of Milledgeville in almost 20 years, has verbally committed to play college football for Coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes.
Welch didn't actually "verbally commit," but rather he made his intentions known earlier this week with a photo edit on Twitter, which has become the trend these days...

Welch rushed for 16 touchdowns and almost 1,400 yards last season, despite playing behind a shaky offensive line. In the process, he was named the GHSA Region 2-AAAA Offensive Player of the Year.
Welch has true big-play ability and has electrified Braves Stadium since his freshman season.
Welch is rated as a 4 star by the Rivals recruiting service and the second-best running back in the state of Georgia for the Class of 2024. The other three big recruiting services have him ranked as a 3 star and not quite as high, however.
Welch had scholarship offers from a number of other programs, including Tennessee, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Florida.
Welch committed to Colorado after taking a visit to Boulder and touring the campus this past weekend.
