PRISON ROUNDUP: Pair of Milledgeville men won't be home for the holidays

A pair of Milledgeville men most definitely won't be home for the holidays after recently having their day in Superior Court in downtown Milledgeville.

William Mose Buckland pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual exploitation of children and received 10 years behind bars and another 10 on probation. As part of the plea negotiation, two counts of child molestation were "nolle prossed." After getting out of prison, Buckland also must comply with the rules of the Georgia Sex Offender Registry.

Buckland, pictured above at left, stood accused of performing a sexual act in front of a juvenile boy and also showing the same boy sexually explicit photos and videos featuring minors. The incidents took place "between the 12th day of March, 2022 and the second day of April, 2023," according to the indictment.

Buckland's prison sentence began on Nov. 16, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections' database.

Meanwhile, Trevor James Sawyer was sentenced to five years behind bars and 15 more on probation after pleading guilty to 13 counts of entering auto. A pair of drug trafficking charges were "nolle prossed."

Sawyer and another man – Jeremy Andrew Blizard, 18 – were arrested back in October 2022 following a slew of entering autos. Roughly a half dozen occurred in the Villamar apartments, while the rest took place around the downtown area. Also arrested at the time and charged with two counts of entering auto was Halie Golden, 21.
