Lockerly In Lights running hot, sells 300 tickets for first Saturday night

Apparently, the Saturday night "walking tour" is here to stay around Lockerly Arboretum.

Roughly 300 tickets were sold for the very first walking tour, which was held last Saturday during the first week of Lockerly In Lights 2023.

"It was fantastic. Fortunately, we split it into two different start times – 6 (p.m.) and 7:30 (p.m.) – which helped with the foot traffic," said Jennifer Pollard, Lockerly's executive director.

Friday is still the "driving tour," and there's no need to purchase tickets online. Simply show up with some cash, as it's $15 per car on Friday nights. On Saturdays, however, tickets must be purchased ahead of time on Lockerly's website, which can be FOUND HERE.

Lockerly supporters put out a call for help earlier this year, and Milledgeville most definitely responded. Supporters quickly began paying for items on Lockerly's "Amazon Wish List," all with the goal of making this holiday's "Lockerly in Lights" the biggest and best yet.

Lockerly in Lights made its debut in 2020. The momentum then continued to build, and the 2021 version sported dozens of displays and more than 50,000 lights. Lockerly in Lights then took a pause during the 2022 holiday season, as the arboretum essentially was a construction zone with several construction projects happening, mainly a new front parking lot.

Lockerly in Lights will continue each Friday and Saturday night until Dec. 23.

This year's "lead financial sponsor" is Fowler Flemister Concrete, while also on board as financial sponsors are:

Zschimmer & Schwarz, Inc.

Citizens Bank of the South

Exchange Bank

Century Bank and Trust

Sinclair Reserve Realty

LAV Plumbing

Keller Williams Realty, the Kimi Clements Team
