A "rolling shootout" involving two vehicles occurred in Duplex City earlier this afternoon, and one man was fatally shot.

At least one suspect has been taken into custody.

The Milledgeville Police Department was not ready to release the name of the victim, but Baldwin2k News can confirm that there was only one victim, contrary to ridiculous and irresponsible rumors on social media.

"I can say with 100 percent confidence that it was completely gang related," said Milledgeville Police Department Chief Dray Swicord.

The rolling shootout began on Grandview Drive and culminated on Anthony Way. A "very large number of shell casings" were recovered.

This follows an incident on Tuesday, when lights lit up Duplex City,  and three different apartments sustained damage from gunfire.

Per usual, "due to no one seeing anything, it is currently unknown who was shooting," according to a Milledgeville Police Department incident report.

A woman in the 2430 block of Grandview Drive relayed to officers that she "heard a loud boom coming from the area of Anthony Way." She added that she began walking around the home and eventually noticed a bullet hole in her son's room. Meanwhile, another woman on the same block said that "there were seven bullet holes on the outside of the residence." Across the field in the 2300 block of Anthony Way, meanwhile, a man relayed to officers that he stepped outside to smoke a cigarette, "saw several males and heard them shout 'shoot 'em!'" One bullet later was found in the front door and another one on the kitchen floor. The man "stated he did not know who the males were or who they were shooting at."
