New business going up at old northside BB&T property
One of the four most coveted commercial properties in Baldwin County soon will be the site of a Circle K convenience store.
The new business will be located at 2345 North Columbia Street, previously the BB&T northside branch. The gas pumps and canopy will face North Columbia Street, with the new 5,200-square-foot store building behind it, also facing North Columbia Street, according to the blueprints.
The existing entrances/exits will remain the same, just as they were when the bank branch was still open.
Circle K Stores, Inc. is an Arizona-based company with roughly 10,000 locations in the United States. Circle K Stores, Inc. has held the title of "largest non-franchised convenience store company in the country" since the early 1980s. Circle K purchased Flash Foods' parent company in 2016 for $4.4 billion, and all Flash Foods stores in Baldwin County gradually made the transition to Circle K.
Fortunately, Circle K didn't change Flash Foods' coffee, which is some of the greatest gas station coffee ever.
