Robert Howard Farmer age 74, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18th at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Childres officiating.

Mr. Farmer was born in Milledgeville, Georgia on December 9, 1946, to Joseph Aaron Farmer and Juanita Price Farmer. He was a 1966 graduate of Baldwin High School and graduated from North Georgia Tech College. He worked for Lowe’s and retired as the Assistant Manager of the Lumber Department. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Macon.

Survivors include his wife Jennifer Farmer of Macon, two sons, Robert Jacob Farmer (Jessica) of Pheonix, AZ, Howard Galen Farmer (Nicole) of Milledgeville, two brothers, Joseph Aaron Farmer, Jr. (Anita) of Akin, SC, and Larry Farmer (Linda) of Hawkinsville, grandchildren, Ryan, Joseph, Clay, Savannah and Lacey, great grandchildren, Kolby and Logan.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.

• Funeral services for Tony Miller age 68 will be conducted Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 2 P.M. in Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens. Miller passed away on Sept. 11, 2021.

The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 until 8 P.M.
Mr. Tony Harold Miller was a lifelong resident of Milledgeville, son of the late Joseph Harold Miller. He was self employed as a logger truck driver, he enjoyed racing, was a dirt track racer and loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Clayton Miller, daughters, Tonya Dunn (Darryl) of Milledgeville and Tonya Cook (Chris) of Haddock; sons, Charlie Herringdine (Jennifer) of Milledgeville, Tony Shane Miller (Crystal) and Scott Miller (Candice) of Milledgeville; mother, Eugenia Morrison Holton (Roy/ Scubby)of Gordon; Grandchildren, Corey Dunn, Joshua Herringdine, Harley Weeks, Alyssa Dunn, Taylor Haislip, Taylor Herringdine, Kaylee Miller, Bryce Miller, Blayne Miller, Lexi Rae Dunn and Bre Ann Miller;
Great grandchildren, Georgia Grace Dunn, Eilleigh Kate Dunn
Sister Victoria Dawn Lindsey, Nieces, Marae Hodnett- Long, Desiree Lindsey Aston
Nephew Patrick Hodnett III.

• Gregory James “Jimmy” Humphrey age 71, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11th at Baldwin Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating.

Mr. Humphrey was born in Cornwall, New York on August 23, 1950, to Thomas Humphrey and Dorothy Frances Branson Humphrey. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was retired from the Central State Hospital where he worked in the Physical Therapy Department at Georgia War Veterans Home.

Survivors include his sister Phyllis Humphrey of Milledgeville and his brother Robert Humphrey of Vienna.

• John Edward “Buddy” Martin, 86, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 13, 2021 in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Elder Craig DeLoach officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 PM on Monday, September 13, 2021 in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Cary, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 12,2021 in Williams Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. The family requests that all attending please wear masks.

Buddy was born in Milledgeville on July 18, 1935. He was the son of the late Willie Edward and Lillie Mae Martin. He was a 1952 graduate of Midway High School, and 1954 graduate of Georgia Military College. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia in 1956 where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was commissioned as a 2nd LT. Buddy served in the Army Reserves for 10 ½ years and retired as Captain of the US Army.

Buddy was in the grocery business most of his life. He became a partner with his father in 1959 at Martin’s Store, which was at the time a third-generation business since opening in 1937. Buddy eventually took over the business, enlarged it and it became Martin’s Foodlane and later Martin’s IGA. Buddy was named Small Business Owner of the Year in 1986.

Buddy loved his community. He served as a member of the Milledgeville/Baldwin County Recreation Board from 1965-1979. Due to his accomplishments on the board, Mayor James Baugh declared March 10, 1980, as “Buddy Martin Day” in the city of Milledgeville. Buddy served as a city councilman and represented the council on the GMC Board of Trustees. He served on the Board of Trustees at John Milledge Academy. He served as a Director for Century Bank for many years.

Buddy was a great man of faith. He was a devoted deacon and charter member of Hardwick Primitive Baptist Church for 77 years. He taught Sunday School many of those years, was a choir member, song leader, and also a lay speaker for the church when he was needed. He served as Chairman of the Southern States Bible Conference for 15 years and Vice Chairman of the Primitive Baptist Foundation.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Martin; son, Michael Martin and his wife Tonya; daughter, Suzanne Ratliff and her husband Jeff; grandchildren, Blake Martin, Braeden Martin, Ava Kate Martin and Bailey Ratliff; sister, Betty Jones-Williams and nephew, Ken Jones and his wife Laura.

Ms. Joyce Phelps, of Milledgeville, Georgia entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Atrium Health Navicent Health, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Mrs. Johnnie Mae Sanford Turner, of Milledgeville, Georgia entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Atrium Health Navicent Macon, Georgia.

Funeral services will be announced later upon completion.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Turner, several children, other loving relatives and friends.
