• GMC Prep – 20

• Hancock-Central – 0

Quite frankly, this is the biggest win for GMC in many, many years.

The Dawgs had this one circled on the calendar since last year, when GMC was humbled by Hancock-Central in Sparta. Hancock won the region last season. On Friday night, however, GMC clearly was the team that wanted it more, and GMC was the team with the better fitness level and conditioning. Both teams dressed out roughly the same number of players, around 30. But, GMC was the more well-conditioned squad.

In the process, GMC defeated Hancock for the first time since 2014 and only the second time on the field in 10 attempts, all time. The Dawgs are now 4-0 overall in 1-0 in the region. To date, at least, it's been a dream season for GMC.

Bulloch Academy – 3

John Milledge Academy – 31

The Trojans went down to the Statesboro area and took care of business with very few logistical issues. JMA has now won 25 games in a row by at least four touchdowns.

Next up for the Trojans is Gatewood, a team that JMA has owned under Head Coach J.T. Wall. It's a non-region game these days, as Gatewood has been in GISA Class AA for a while now, while JMA is the beast of Class AAA.
