Curtis David Douglas, age 79, of Milledgeville, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021. A Celebration of Life will take place at the family’s residence on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10:00am with Rev. Sam Halverson, and Pastor and friend, Esther Lanting officiating. The family will visit with friends at their residence, after the service.
A native of Waynesville, GA, Curt was born June 24, 1942 to the late Troy Douglas and the late Margaret Manor Douglas. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Douglas. Curt was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He lived most of his life in Brunswick, before moving to Lake Sinclair. He retired from Brunswick Pulp and Paper, and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Curt is survived by his wife, Flo Williams Douglas of Milledgeville ; his sons, Athur William “Art” Douglas (& Katie) of Peachtree City, and Kelly David Douglas (& Susan) of Bentonville, AR ; his sister, Colleen Walden (& J.R.) of Brunswick ; his brothers, Harry Douglas of Plant City, FL, and Wayne Douglas of Odum, GA ; and his grandchildren, Emma Kate Douglas, Harper Douglas, William Douglas, and Buddy Douglas.
The family has requested that those who wish, make Memorial Contributions to Hopewell United Methodist Church – Local Fund, 188 Hopewell Church Road, Milledgeville, GA 31061.

Mrs. Joan Carr Brown, 83, passed away on October 4, 2021.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 2 PM in Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Horton officiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on October 7, 2021 from 1 PM until the service hour. Mrs. Brown was a native of Hancock County and lived at Lake Sinclair since 1982.She held 2 jobs her entire life, Buds Glass Services and David Giddens, she was the daughter of the late Joe B. Carr and Edna Davis Carr and was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Dan Brown and son in laws, Kenny Reynolds, and Bubba Leverett; and grandson in law, Chris Baughcum. Mrs. Brown was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Dianne Reynolds, Cindy Leverett, and Connie Brown; sister, Patricia Jackson of New Port Ritchie, FL; grandchildren, Kendra, Wesley (Lisa), Jennifer (Eric), Danielle (Levi), Shane (Kelly); great grandchilden, Cline, Haylee, Ava Grace, Sadie, Lindi, Layton, Kaleigh, John Pate, Kason, Eli, Avery.
Flowers accepted and for those who wish memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Elizabeth (Betty/Veta) Czap, 93, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021.
She was born Elizabeth Potopea on August 8, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio. The daughter of Michael Potopea and Mary Russo-Potopea.
She graduated from East High School in 1947. She enjoyed doing hair, arts and crafts, listening to Tom Jones, traveling, playing cards, and she was involved in many social groups. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her two sons Bill (Robin) Czap and Joseph Czap (Skip). Her Grandchildren Joe (Tara) Czap, Brittany (David) Young, Stacey Czap, Eric Czap, Brian Czap, Jason Czap, Jeremy Panno, Noah O’Neil and Kristen Jones. Her great-grandchildren Jojo Czap, Anthony Czap (Antman), Zoie Czap, Angelina Nommay, Braylon Bolger (Dominic), Brooklyn Czap, Cooper Czap, Greyson Czap, Sebastian Czap, Alexis Czap and Aiden Czap. A sister Valerie Potopea-Frem; A Godson Keith Mastoridas and Lots of niece’s and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, five sisters, son William Czap and a great-grandson Brady Bolger.
As per her wishes a cremation will take place and a private service will be held in a celebration of her life.

Burnice Lou Martin Leady went to her Heavenly Home on October 4, 2021. She died peacefully in Brunswick, Georgia, her home for the last 45 years. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Frances Davis Martin. She was born in Milledgeville, Georgia, but lived in Wilkinson County in her early years, graduating from Wilkinson County High School in 1968. She graduated from Georgia College in 1972.
Burnice worked with the developmentally disabled most of her career. She moved to southeast Georgia in 1976 and worked in several service centers in that area of Georgia. She retired from the State of Georgia Department of Developmental Disabilities with 34 years of service. She served as Director of the Camden County Service Center the last 20 years of her career. She loved her clients and they loved her back.
She enjoyed living on the coast, cooking, playing and listening to blue grass music.
She was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and godmother…always willing to help anyone. She loved the gatherings with her friends when they played music, cooked good food, and laughed and talked and had a great time. Burnice was always ready to go to a thrift shop or a yard sale.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Robert (Bob) Leady; stepson, Kenny Leady of North Baltimore, Ohio; step granddaughters, Katie Leady of Maurmee, Ohio and Kealeigh Leady of Bowling Green, Ohio; sister, Mary Ann Rogers of Toomsboro, GA; brother, Dave (Laney) Martin of Wilkinson County; brother-in-law, Steve James of Wilkinson County; sister-in-law, Marie L Flynn of Syracuse, NY; nieces, Kara James, Emily (Will) Hulsey, Amanda M. Panther, Rachel M. Youmans; nephew, Josh Martin, all of Wilkinson County; aunt, Nan M. Hall of Toomsboro; and goddaughter, Emily Evans, of Panama City Beach, FL . A number of great nieces and nephews also survive.

Jeanelle Mellor, of Milledgeville, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021. A Memorial Service for Jeanelle Mellor will be conducted Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 4:00 PM in the All Angels Episcopal Church in Eatonton with The Rev. Loree Reed officiating. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
A native of Albany, Jeanelle was the daughter of the late James Tonnis Wiggins and the late Sarah Margaret Rhodes Wiggins. She was a member of All Angels Episcopal Church in Eatonton. Jeanelle and Phil have been married for 31 years. They enjoyed life together often traveling and hosting many family celebrations at the lake. Jeanelle loved working with children and was an educator for over 20 years at St. John’s Episcopal Day School in College Park. Jeanelle and Phil were members of All Angels Episcopal Church in Eatonton, Georgia. Jeanelle was a beloved Mimi to all who knew her and was blessed with many friends from high school, college, and church. Jeanelle was famous for baking delicious Hello Dollies, Coconut Cake, and Banana Pudding.
Jeanelle is survived by her husband, Philip Mellor, Sr. of Milledgeville ; her daughter, Robin Heiden (& Jimmy) of Milledgeville ; her sons Bucke Watts (& Gladys) of Crestview, FL and Philip Mellor, Jr. of Clayton ; her sister, Tammy Frink (& Steve) of Woodstock ; her grandchildren, Allison Frink (& Jonathan), Aaron Frink, Rebekah Ketterman (& Clay), Sarah Mellor, Austin Hunter, Jessica Webster (& Andrew), Harrison Watts, Christian Watts, and Joseph Watts ; her great grandchildren, Staci Kate Hunter, Lillian Webster, and Magnolia Webster ; and her beloved dog, “Priss”.

Mrs. Lois Marie Thomas, of Milledgeville, Georgia entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Victory Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.
She is survived by her loving family and friends.

Roxann LaBelle Holloway age 70, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9th at Westview Baptist Church with Coy Hollinshed and Cody Ansley.
Mrs. Holloway was born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 12, 1951. She grew up in Niagara Falls and later moved to Florida for many years. She had made her home in Milledgeville since 1986.
Survivors include her husband Wayne Holloway of Milledgeville, a son Scott Ventrilla of Lilburn and a daughter Kerri Dietrich (Steve Bernat) of Ruston, LA, her mother Betty Clark LaBelle of Niagara Falls, NY, two brothers Billy LaBelle of Ransonville, NY, and Ronnie Labelle of Niagara Fall, NY, three sisters Candie Juzysta (Jim) of Towawanda, NY, Karen Murphy and Cheryl LaBelle both of Niagara Falls, NY, four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
