Local "Million Dollar Lake Club" list grows

A home on Mariners Drive recently sold for $1.08 million, adding to the list of Lake Sinclair homes in Baldwin County to sell for more than a million bucks.

Located across the river and off of Gumm Cemetery Road, the 4,096-square-foot, four-bedroom home sold on July 12. The house also sits on 4.4 acres, which is most likely what got the selling price into the seven figures. The house was built in 2006.

According to its Zillow listing:

Along with the Mariners Drive property, two other Lake Sinclair homes also sold for seven figures in recent months.

The property a 121 East Lakeshore Circle, located a few golf shots away from the airport, sold earlier this summer for $1.15 million, according to Zillow.com. The seller was listed as “Eddie Melder” and the seller “Michael D. Lewis and Marilyn A. Lewis as Co-Trustees of the Michael D. Lewis Family Trust," according to Tax Assessor's Office records. 

The property, according to Zillow:

  • is a “beautiful custom Craftsman lakefront home, only 4 years old. Pour your glass of wine and sit on the upper balcony with a soothing fire and watch the absolute gorgeous sunsets on Lake Sinclair.”

Also, according to Zillow, another Lakeshore Circle property sold in mid-July for $1.15 million. 245 East Lakeshore Circle is described as "a magnificent home with 6 spacious bedrooms, 4 on main level, 2 master suites with private baths.

Those two houses join the one at 166 PA Johns Road, which last October also sold for $1.15 million. PA Johns is located off of Sinclair Dam Road and just east of the country club. The buyer, according to Tax Assessor's Office records, was listed as "David Norwood Glisson, Jr." and the seller "James Ivey, Jr."

According to the previous listing, "This home sits on a fee simple lakefront lot with over 250ft of lake frontage with huge water views and deep water. Based on Tax Assessor's Office records, as well as more recent Zillow information, the number of Lake Sinclair homes that have sold for at least $1 million is now up to six. 

Several other lake properties have been listed with a million-dollar plus selling price, but those purchases were several separate properties lumped into one sale.
