A two-vehicle accident in the 200 block of Lakeside Drive in Carrington Woods on Friday evening resulted in a fatality, according to the Milledgeville Police Department.
The MPD did not release the name of the deceased, "pending notification of next of kin."
The location of the accident was listed as the "2o0 block of Lakeside Drive," which is the main cut-thru road between North Columbia Street and North Jefferson Street. The "200 block" runs from Lake Oliver Hardy east towards Woodland Circle. Woodland Circle is closer to the Jefferson Street side of Carrington Woods and the old Walter B. Williams, Jr. house.
Added the press release: "The Milledgeville Police Department is investigating a two vehicle traffic crash in the 200 Block of Lakeside Drive in the Carrington Woods Subdivision. The crash has resulted in one fatality on the scene and another person being flown by helicopter to an area hospital by Air Evac Lifeteam 140 - Milledgeville, GA. Traffic Investigators have arrived on scene and more information will be released pending completion of the investigation and notification of next of kin. TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lakeside Drive will be shutdown in both directions until the investigation is complete. Please avoid the area until further notice."
