Crazy Chick calls it a day

Domino's Pizza decided years ago that it'd be better off on North Columbia Street. Church's Chicken tried for a few years but ultimately gave up. The Dairy Lane attempted to recreate the magic that it found in Sandersville without success. And now, The Crazy Chic has called it a day.

Indeed, the commercial property at 620 North Jefferson St. hasn't exactly been a cash cow over the years since it was first built in 1985. Perhaps it's the location, or perhaps it’s the fact that Jefferson Street is an especially narrow four-lane road with very few acceleration lanes and deceleration lanes. Or, maybe it's a combination of several different factors.

The word "CLOSED" now sits alone on the restaurant's sign on North Jefferson Street. Around back, meanwhile, a note is taped on the drive-thru order board:

We are closed – Thank you for your support! Please come see us at The Reel Grill, Taylor's Cove, and The Fat Squirrel. We love you and appreciate you! Ben

The Crazy Chic was owned and operated by the same Macon-based restaurant group with the other aforementioned establishments around town.

The .61-acre property has a "building value" of $221,600 and a "land value" of $33,800, according to the Baldwin County Tax Assessor's Office most recent records.
