Construction began Monday morning on the new roundabout project at the Kings/Stembridge roads intersection across the river, detouring traffic in four different directions.
Motorists apparently were slow to get the message, however, prompting County Manager Carlos Tobar to drive out to the area and post a Facebook Live video.
"The roads are closed at this intersection. There a lot of people turning around, so a lot of folks haven't gotten the message. The intersection of Kings and Stembridge is closed for construction," said Tobar in the video. "We'll get this intersection finished as soon as we can."
The intersection will remain shut down for another month, with Jan. 14 being targeted as the re-opening date.

Heavy rain, with a high of 86 and low of 64 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Partly Cloudy in the morning, light drizzle in the afternoon, sunny in the evening, clear overnight.
Everything sounded so lovely until the end.
“We tried”
If that’s not disheartening idk what is. I feel the need to quote my mom here. “I can’t have nothin nice”. Wiser words were never said.
Oh! And for gods sake STAY HYDRATED if you want to save on hospital bills. I hate summer.
Member when the river was fun and didn’t get angry and take lives? You could float down hopefully by sunset with only burnt skin that was a problem for later you? Member when your biggest fear were all the scary gar lingering about?
