A woman with a Riverdale address in Clayton County will spend Christmas at the Baldwin County Jail after reportedly shooting a female acquaintance  in the leg during an argument at the Super Inn on North Columbia Street.

To compound matters, the suspect also is accused of leading officers on a high-speed chase up North Columbia Street with three children in her car. She eventually was arrested without incident near the Circle K at the Putnam County line.

Tazaria Tana Williams is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, as well as one count each of fleeing/attempting to elude, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and child safety restraint law violation.

The shooting occurred inside of a motel room and "is believed to be domestic in nature," according to investigators.

First responders initially converged en masse at the Super Inn around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday night. The victim was rushed to the hospital. Contrary to rumors, however, the wound doesn't appear to be life-threatening, Baldwin2k learned from investigators.

According to a Milledgeville Police Department press release:

"Units were dispatched to the location at 8:48pm in reference to one individual shot. When the first unit arrived, the suspect was fleeing the location in a vehicle and headed northbound on North Columbia Street. Milledgeville units attempted to stop the vehicle, at which time it failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit began. Milledgeville units pursued the suspect vehicle to the Putnam County line where they were able to get the vehicle stopped and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. This is an active and ongoing investigation, and more information will be provided as it becomes available."
