A 27-year-old woman was arrested after a male acquaintance showed up to Atrium Navicent Health Baldwin with a laceration to his hand.

Jada Myderia Wesley was charged with aggravated assault, second degree criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, as well as two counts of probation violation. According to the incident report, Wesley "became extremely upset and grabbed a knife," and the situation escalated from there.

The incident marked arrest No. 8 for Wesley. She was arrested three different times back in 2012, when she was either 17 or 18. The fist arrest came in February of that year for disruption or interference with public school, the second in May for fighting/affray and disruption of public school and the third in July for fighting/affray and battery. She ultimately was sentenced to five years probation and spent 27 days in the county jail, according to her jail history.

Wesley then was arrested for aggravated assault in July 2016, ultimately spending three days in county lockup and being sentenced to five more years of probation.

In 2019, meanwhile, Wesley was arrested three more times, first for reportedly scuffling with officers in the Pickle Barrel parking lot following a dispute over an unpaid bill, then for disorderly conduct and loitering upon a school safety zone after "being disruptive at a bus stop" on Allen Memorial Drive, and finally for taking off on foot following a vehicle pursuit on around Swint Avenue and Wolverine Street. She ultimately spent 197 days in the county jail and was sentenced to more probation.

I'm not sure what she needs, clearly something for the public's protection as well as her own, but this merry go round of arrests and jailing doesn't seem to be helping. More of the same is likely to continue getting the same result.
