“Hey, You Guys!”
Make plans to be downtown Milledgeville for the 2nd First Friday of 2022, March 4th. The ‘Friday Night Feature’ will be the classic 1980’s hit movie The Goonies. The movie will be viewed on a 20-foot outdoor projector screen, patrons are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to watch the classic film under the stars. Fire pits will be scattered about to add some warmth along with outdoor lighting to give a festive look to the event venue. Main Street is thankful for the ability to borrow the fire pits from the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Development Authority to keep all the patrons warm.
Local non-profit partners will be providing fun activities for kids as well. Big Brother’s Big Sisters will have corn hole and a giant connect four games, along with paint projects and bead work.
The Middle Georgia Regional Library will be in attendance and providing library books available for check out and library card applications. Boy Scout Troop 124 will be there with kid’s activities, and the LGBTQ+Folx of Milledgeville will provide rainbow and pot of gold hanging craftConcession style desserts will be on-hand for purchase during the movie.
Popcorn, funnel cakes, cotton candy, and snow cones will be for sale by Finesse Catering, and hot cinnamon doughnuts from The Dough Co. will also be for sale and cooked to order.
Everyone is encouraged to grab a meal and drink from one of the over 12 downtown restaurants – dine in or take out.
Delta Zeta Lambda Pi will be having a Boot Scootin’ BBQ in support of hearing and speech through their partnership with American Society for Deaf Children and in support of The Beth Rihm Foundation. Ned Kelly’s Upstairs, from 6-9PM BBQ plates and bull riding will be available. There will also be country music, a photo booth, and much more.
