A pair of Kroger customers was arrested last weekend, one for arguing about the price of "blowing up balloons" and reportedly assaulting an employee, and the other for returning to the store after being trespassed and sitting in a chair by the Starbucks and eating an apple and an orange.

The first incident occurred around 6:30 Friday evening, when a 911 call came in from Kroger about "an irate customer,"  according to an incident report. Two officers responded and "an employee immediately pointed at a black Honda Accord and informed us that the female offender was in the vehicle." The Honda then left the parking lot and eventually was pulled over near Shane's Rib Shack. The woman, ultimately identified as April Kendrah Dodson, 36, was sitting in the passenger seat and was asked to step out, added the incident report.

Added the incident: "Upon asking April to exit the vehicle, she immediately began to yell at (the deputy). (The other deputy) attempted to grab her arm to assist her out of the car, but she snatched away...April continued to act in an irate manner, yelling at (the two deputies)."

After "over a minute of yelling at us," Dodson eventually "stepped out of the vehicle on her own but continued to yell and act in an irate manner." Meanwhile, Dodson's husband was in the driver's seat and informed deputies that he "was in the parking lot waiting" during the incident and didn't see what happened.. The victim then was interviewed, a woman who worked in the flower department. The victim relayed to deputies that Dodson "was upset about being charged a refill on her balloons. (The victim) stated Dodson started yelling and cussing so she called the manager." While on the phone with the manager, Dodson "attempted to jump behind the counter" and began "screaming profanities."

Dodson ultimately was charged with misdemeanor obstruction of an officer, disorderly conduct and simple battery.

On Sunday evening, meanwhile, another 911 call was placed from Kroger in reference to a shoplifting and a trespassing. "Kroger management...informed (the deputy) that there was a male sitting down by Starbucks inside the store, who had just grabbed and a orange and apple and started eating the items without paying form them," according to an incident report. The deputy was informed that the man previously had been trespassed from the store "for harassing people inside of the store" and that "they believed this individual lived on nearby Kenan Drive.

Eventually arrested without incident was Gregory Clinton Benton, 68, listed with a Kenan Drive address. He was charged with criminal trespass. Added the incident report: "it should be noted that the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office has dealt with Gregory numerous times in the past month."
