Timothy Bernard Laster pleaded guilty to first degree arson earlier this month and walked out of the courthouse a free man.

Laster initially was booked in August of last year and accused of burning down the mobile home at 180 Carter Place, located off of North Main Street and north of Allen Memorial Drive.

Laster has been arrested at the Baldwin County jail 11 different times. In 2020, he was arrested for battery/family violence and terroristic threats, and the year before that he also was arrested for battery/family violence.

As part of the plea deal, Laster was sentenced to 10 years on probation and $8,000 in restitution to the property owner. Laster had been in the county jail since last August.
