The 25-year-old man who was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday afternoon was "walking in the roadway, crossing not at a crosswalk or traffic signal and walking amongst traffic," according to a Milledgeville Police Department accident report.

Kristian Riley, listed with a Keystone Heights, Fla. address, was transported to the hospital and listed in "critical but stable condition." The driver, Gabrielle Pilcher, 22, was not cited, and the accident report listed Riley as "at fault."

Pilcher was traveling north in a green Toyota Camry in the left lane of North Columbia Street when the vehicle in front of her began to slow down. She "reacted to the vehicle in front of her suddenly slowing down by moving into the (right lane)." That's when the vehicle struck Riley, sending him roughly "61 feet from impact."

The driver of the vehicle in front of Pilcher relayed to officers that "he had to slow down for Riley in the roadway and he saw (the Camry) behind him change into the outside lane."

Added the accident report: "Video of the accident showed Riley walking in the roadway, crossing not at a crosswalk or traffic signal and walking amongst traffic."

The accident occurred in the area in front of the Big Lots shopping center and Taco Bell.
