Milledgeville/Baldwin County has recorded its fourth homicide of 2022, after a body was discovered inside of the residence of 129-A Edwards Street, located between Swint Avenue and the Vinson Highway and roughly halfway between the Solo store and the Milledgeville Manor.

The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office identified the deceased as Chavonta Braddy, 27.  Braddy "suffered multiple gunshot wounds," according to a BCSO press release, while "a vehicle parked at the residence (was) riddled with gunfire."

A family member discovered the body inside of the home around lunchtime today. Shortly before midnight last night, meanwhile, people in the area began posting on social media about hearing gunshots. More details are expected to be released by the BCSO in the coming days.

Braddy had been staying out of legal trouble in the last few years and doing better, according to his jail history and legal history with the BCSO. He previously hit a rough patch, however, and was arrested on five different occasions between 2016 and 2019.
