Let there be barking!

The Baldwin County School District is welcoming home one its own, as Georgia Bulldogs football player Javon Bullard will be back in town tomorrow (Friday) for a   whirlwind tour. The festivities will culminate with an event at the Baldwin High Fine Arts Center at 5 p.m., and the public is invited.

"We are asking everyone to wear their UGA spirit wear to show support for this young man and the great accomplishment of being a national champion," wrote the district in a press release.

Prior to that, Bullard will visit each BCSD school around town for a series of impromptu pep rallies and high-fives.

Bullard graduated from BHS in December 2020, a semester early, and has been on campus in Athens since last winter. He appeared in 14-out-of-15 games during the 2021 season. For the season, Bullard played 138 snaps in the defensive secondary for Georgia, according to www.rivals.com. That was the second-most playing time among all of the defensive members of Georgia's 2021 recruiting class.

Bullard's parents – James and Shonda – attended all but one game this season. The family was in frigid Indianapolis for the national championship game against Alabama, cheering on the Dawgs from the stands and representing Milledgeville. On the field, meanwhile, Bullard got in the game on special teams.
